Dr. Salem Saljanin
Senior Economist
Dr. Salem Saljanin is a versatile competition economist with over ten years of experience in economic consulting. He has recognized expertise in the valuation of intangible assets and the quantification of damages – particularly in commercial litigation as well as tax and competition law proceedings. His key strength lies in structuring complex economic questions, developing sound economic perspectives, and presenting them in a way that stands up in court.
He has extensive sector experience, especially in automotive, healthcare & life sciences, consumer goods & retail, and regulated industries. In addition to deep industry knowledge, he brings strong methodological expertise – particularly in empirical analysis and game-theoretic modeling.
Salem Saljanin studied economics with a focus on econometrics and game theory and earned his PhD from the University of Hamburg. Before joining Düsseldorf Competition Economics, he worked for international consulting firms and the German Monopolies Commission.
